There's romance in these fantasy novels, inspired by places I've traveled. I wrote them to be ridiculous on purpose. How else can you get dragons and pixies in the Underground, or an audience with the merlion in Singapore?

Fairy Doctor 3 is almost like a choose your own adventure novel

Wait, you have to choose your own adventure?

I always read the choose-your-own-adventure games wrong. I’d start out fine, following a story through the book, until I got impatient and went looking for the ending I wanted. Then, I would flip through the book looking for how I would get to that point. Oh, don’t go to the sandpit, or don’t take the helicopter.

It was not cheating!

These days there are visual novels, Otome games and anime that give you plenty of romantic harems, where the protagonist must choose between different partners.

I have a book coming soon featuring a choice between love interests. My Fairy Doctor series has two endings. There is one where Lillia ends up with the Baron, and in the other book, she ends up with the former bodyguard Marquez. Why did I do this? Well, by accident. I was writing and I preferred one man to the other. But the story did that thing where it takes over and moves in an unexpected direction. The characters seem to have a mind of their own. No! I refused to let this happen. I tried to fight against the natural flow because I wanted the story of Lillia and Marquez. But she went off track, as characters sometimes do.

Well, I was so annoyed that I wrote a second version. Fairy Doctor Rest In Peace, Segundo. It is entirely my personal “official” fan fiction, where the characters I want together get together.

Maybe you’d prefer the other man?

You get both options if you buy the last book in the series!

Fairy Doctor Rest in Peace, Baron’s Route and Fairy Doctor Rest in Peace, Segundo will be available from all the fine virtual bookstores later this spring. I don’t have the preorder or release date yet. If you haven’t gotten your hands on the first book in the series, here’s a special promotion to get you started!

Book 1, Fairy Doctor Falls in Love, my series starter, will be free from now until the end of May 2025. I decided.
