Don’t preorder the free promo ebook!

Changeling Fate. Stacie stands with a yellow umbrella in front of a watery spiral sky

I’m going to give away a book soon! It’s called Changeling Fate, the Adventures of Hawke Hunter. It’s not out yet though.

This is a marketing technique. A promotion. It’s like a free sample, but instead of a small snack, I’m giving away a book.

It’s up for preorder now. But I still have to make the free book page, so I can track promotions, and whatnot. (Marketing stuff is so much fun! I wonder how I can make it more fun? I know, let’s share all my random attempts to promote and give away a book.)

Long story short. Did you know that you can’t make a preorder for a free book? I didn’t know that. Instead, I put it down for the low price of 0.99. What can you get for a dollar these days? (I bought an avocado on sale for 0.79 each, three of them!) But seriously, don’t buy this book yet. Don’t preorder it! It’s going to be free soon.

And I’ll update this page when I have a guide about getting the epub straight from the website.

*Update! It’s been released to the world! You can find the epub and download guide here.

Where else will Changeling Fate be available?

  • Kobo
  • Barnes & Noble
  • Apple
  • Toling
  • Vivlio
  • Scribd
  • Thalia
  • Angus and Robetson

There are so many booksellers to find and download books. Hopefully, I got your favorite indie. But you know where it won’t be available for free? Amazon. They don’t give books away for free unless you’re part of their Kindle Unlimited program and then it’s a limited free promo. Or you must force them to price match. So I’m skipping the Kindle this time, unless…. you upload the epub to your kindle. I tested it out and the cover looks so snazzy in my library! (Guide coming soon!)

What genre is the book?

It’s the first YA book I’m releasing.

Okay, okay it’s not really YA. It’s more for a younger YA audience, or an older middle grade. Stacie Hunter is 14 years old, a highschool freshman and MIT (mage-in-training). It’s a fantasy adventure about faeries and changelings.

Another book about faeries? Yes, of course. I am fascinated. These ones are spelled faeries with an ‘ae’ and are not to be confused with fairies, spelled with “ie”.  I wrote about fairies in my first adult fantasy series: The Fairy Doctor series. Although, I reference quite a few fairy tales and folktales in Changeling Fate, don’t let that confuse you.

Yes, I know, what are you thinking … giving away a YA book when the other books you’ve published are an adult fantasy romance? (And I’m still revising the third book of the series.) Technically, you could classify the Fairy Doctor series as New Adult, because Lillia is around 24 in the first, and while not in college, she’s about that age. Still the Fairy Doctor books are about engagement and a supernaturally powerful fiance/husband, who may or may not be the villain of the story. (You read them and you decide, and then let me know what you think!)

Don’t worry, I’m also writing a YA story for Vella called The Thorn Path and you should check out the episodes right now. They release bi-weekly (or weekly) depending on how far ahead I’ve written. Lucianna has finally arrived at Westred Academy, the school that will teach her to become a better hunter. (Or you know, let her make friends and fall in love for the first time.) It’s a dark fantasy with nithgast invading our world from the Borderlands. There are action pack fights between magicians and a school surrounded by the mysterious Thornwood. The academy was once a castle built by the fae. (Wait more fae? Is this a running theme? Yes, yes it is, my friends.)

If you like faeries, or fairies, stick around. This is the year for the fae!

What is Changeling Fate about?

One Girl

One Changeling

Share a strange fate!

Stacie Hunter is a MIT (Mage-In-Training) and she is a faerie magnet. She was kidnapped as a baby, exchanged for a changeling, but her father rescued her from the Faerie’s of the Green Glen. “Someday your daughter will come back. Then I will keep her forever.”

Fourteen years later, Stacie has never met a faerie. She wants to study magic and help people, but her mother is afraid the faeries want to kidnap her again. Stacie is about to find herself drawn deeply into the faerie world, discover some family secrets and maybe even meet the Faerie Queen herself.

Step into adventure in Changeling Fate, the adventures of Hawke Hunter, coming soon to virtual bookstores and for free download.

There is no escape from fate!

Whatever you do, don’t preorder it!
